Heaven isn’t too far away…

Thursday, August 11th, 2022

Jani Lane.
The front man of the Metal Rock Band, “Warrant”
passed away eleven years ago.

I listened to a lot of their music back in the 90’s and I have always thought he was such a cool guy.
I have always admired amazing singers and songwriters.
Because I can’t do both.

Sure, I can play music.
But it’s mediocre at best.
Plus my voice, fingers and brain does not seem to play in sync.

I wish I would have been surrounded by more musicians throughout my life.
In that way, I would have learned from them and had more chances to better myself.
Except the Universe or whoever is in charge of it, didn’t think I should.
Oh well.
Maybe in the next life, eh?

Anyway.
Here’s a little quick video I did playing a Warrant song.

And it’s still one of my favourites.

Yeah, I’ll eat it.

Another proof

Thursday, April 21st, 2022

Here’s another proof of my Dad’s corny jokes.
And by Jokes, I mean be ready to cringe.

I drove him to Tarlac this one time to see one of his clients.
He talked to the gentleman for a bit while I waited at the lot looking at the vehicles parked there.
One of them was a Chevrolet Truck and while I was checking it out,
Dad and his client seemed to have agreed on something and he asked us to wait for him
as he’ll grab something in his house.

Dad comes up to me and noticed I was looking at the truck.
He said, “Nice truck, huh?”
“Yes, it is.” I replied back.
He added, “Someone once corrected me by pronouncing Chevrolet as Chev-Ro-LET.
With the hard “T” at the end. It should be Chev-Ro-LEY.”

I stared at him waiting for the punch line, I asked “What did you say?”
“He said, “Well, I suppose we should call your Mommy Lolette, Mommy LoLEY.”

–You see it’s my Dad’s Birthday today.
And I try to share all these memories of him so he will never be forgotten.
I miss him dearly.

Happy Birthday, Dad.

A shout out to my brothers and sisters on this day.

Even though we are all far apart and our family is scattered all over the world, know that I am proud to be a part of us.

To Ate Beth, Ate Lynn, Kuya Jo, Kuya Mel, Bry and Kiel,

Mahal ko kayo mga Kapatid.

Today’s Friday Five

Friday, April 8th, 2022

Here we go with today’s Friday Five again.

  1. Do you like children?
-Yes I do. Not in a creepy way though.
I am very good with kids. Well, I like to think I am. I have been told I am always a kid at heart that’s why I get along with them well.
So, do I like Children? Yes.
    Teenagers? Not so much.

  2. How many children would you like to have in the future?
-I already have a son so I am good. But I wish I had a daughter too. My Baby Girl.
She’ll be a Daddy’s girl and I’ll be wrapped around her finger. The sweetness of a daughter to her Daddy seems like a very good feeling.

  3. What if you were expecting sextuplets?
-First, I need to know if they’re all mine. Kidding!
I am sure it’ll be fun. That just means I have a complete Family Hockey Team in the Future!

  4. If TLC offered to share your life on TV, would you accept the offer?
-I don’t know. How much are they paying me? What are the hours? Who are the sponsors?
    What will I wear?

  5. What would you name the sextuplets?
-I’ll probably go Alphabetically, just like in Bridgerton. Or I’ll just probably go with Biblical names.
Matthew, Mark, Donner, Blitzen, Tito and Jermaine.
I have a feeling Jermaine will be a handful.

Slapgate

Tuesday, March 29th, 2022

So, Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on National Television at the Oscars the other night and every one on social media went nuts.

It was so crazy we even forgot that there’s a freakin’ war going on and people are dying.

Anyway, I’m not really going to take sides here. I am not an Ethics Expert. I won’t even mention how the Academy handled the situation because we all know they give preference to certain groups.

I just want to state two things.

Listen up, kids. I’m really hoping your parents already taught you these but I’ll say it nevertheless.

Saucy Journey

Sunday, March 27th, 2022

So, Natalie gifted me this Hot Sauce Collection on my birthday.

She knows I love to punish my mouth, destroy my tongue and mess up my stomach every time I eat.

This was a perfect gift.

I would love to put it on everything but I normally just use it on my pizza.

Putting hot sauce on my pizza is a tradition I learned back when I frequently visit the 3M pizza place in the Philippines where I grew up.

I started with this one called “Abducted” because you know how much I love Sci-Fi stuff.

I finished this one a couple of days ago though I must admit, It was quite disappointing.

The taste wasn’t what I expected. It was a little bland and underwhelming.

Except afterwards when I went to the bathroom. I felt like some alien probed and prodded my ass.

The sounds it made was like Chewbacca screaming after hitting his head at the Falcon’s front gate.

Anyways, join me as I go through all of these flavours and go down the #SaucyJourney

Today’s Friday Five

Friday, March 11th, 2022

So, here’s another Friday Five.

1. How many hours a day/night do you usually sleep?

I think I get about 5.
But, According to the sleep study I went through,
apparently, I wake up about 30 times in an hour.
That’s like every 2 minutes. Right? Is it?
I don’t know. I don’t feel like doing Math.
That’ll bore me to sleep.

2. What do you do when you can’t sleep?

I just stare at the wall all night and cry.
Come to think of it, I should do Math.

3. How often do you devote time to just thinking about something?

Are you kidding me? I live in the world of Overthinking.
Seriously. I bought Real Estate and everything.

4. If you had to choose one person to never talk to again, who would you choose?

Anyone who has done me or my loved ones wrong.
Listen. Do not believe in that forgive and forget shit.
Always choose their disappearance from your life rather than being disrespected.
Trust me on this.
I did the Math.

5. If you had to choose one person, NOT your significant other, who you would speak to every day for the rest of your life, who would you choose?

That would be my son.
No one has made me laugh as hard as that kid did.
I am very proud of what he has become.

International Women’s Day – 2022

Tuesday, March 8th, 2022

Like I have said before, I am lucky enough to have very strong women in my life.
Friends and Family whom I have seen persevere and survive.
I have known them to accomplish great things and overcome difficult times.
I applaud each and every one of them.

Do not get me wrong.
There were also a number of women who were a part of my history that have affected me negatively.
I’d like to think that they were not happy with their lives, determined to destroy and ruin other people’s too.
I was just unfortunate to be in their way.

But this post is not about those unpleasant ones.
There will always be one in a crowd. One or two in every family.

This post is a shout-out to the beautiful women in our lives who gave their pure Love and sacrifice.
Not because they are forced to or because they expect something in return,
but because it’s just what they are.

And a Hero comes along…

Wednesday, February 16th, 2022
Coming back to work today after my #valenTy Birthday weekend,
all employees got a card from the local school here. Isn’t this card adorable?

Now I’m not a front-line worker but I suppose they see me as a Hero too. And appreciated.

It doesn’t matter if the drawings are either Heart Balloons or Swimming Sperm
or even Sperm Balloons. The important thing is .. I’M A HERO!!!

…. And then a hero comes along… with the strength to carry ooonnn (song fades)
