Let me tell you something.
I just had a major surgery done last month.
Recovery time wouldn’t stop me from seeing this concert.

A Hurricane threatened the state of Florida last week.
That wouldn’t stop me from seeing this concert either.

I have waited years to see one of my favorite bands of all time.
Mr. Big has heavily influenced the music I listen to and the songs I try to play.

Seeing them perform live is a dream come true for me.

The show started with them playing,
The Electric Drill Song (Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy).

Who can deny the speed of Paul Gilbert and the Bass Power of Billy Sheehan?
These two are legendary with their respective axes.

“Green Tinted Sixties Mind” is definitely a treat for me
since it is one of the songs we used to play back in Manila.

Here’s a video I took of it.

(Yes, that was me howling at the end.)

You know, I must say that they are a funny bunch too.
You can tell that they are also enjoying playing alongside each other.
I had a great time just watching them having a good time.

Oh and what would a Mr. Big concert be without the ever classic “To Be With You.”
Here’s the Video.

I think that was me singing out of tune in the background.
Hey, I was tired and my throat hurts.
I was also crying.
But that is not important right now.

This song is never going to die.
Don’t pretend you don’t like this one.
You know you sang this song over and over at one time or another.
I alone played my “Lean Into It” Album on a constant repeat on my cassette player.

And then Paul did his guitar solo intermission.
Here’s a video.

I am pretty sure, Paul has six or seven fingers that night.
Those gutbucket riffs are totally out of this world.

And one of their surprise tricks that night,
they all switched places and played each others instruments.
And jammed to Deep Purple’s “Smoke On The Water.”
Here’s a Video.

They ended the show with “Colorado Bulldog” and “Shy Boy.”
At this point, I totally lost my voice and I was exhausted.
But I had a great time and I didn’t want it to end.

Listening to these songs most of my life
and finally got to see their live show,
made me a very happy man.

The amount of talent these guys have is unbelievable.
But that goes without saying.

Thank you,
Eric, Paul, Billy and Pat.
Thanks for a wonderful night.

Here are some pictures I took as well.
